Dr.
Xiao is a certified acupuncturist in the state of New
York, New Jersey and Minnesota. She has been practicing
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for more than 30
years. She was faculty for several universities and
institutions, and served as a board member for many
organizations.
Dr. Xiao began her training and practice in TCM as early
as 1975 with a private TCM practitioner. In 1978, she
was admitted by Hunan TCM University in China, and received
her medical degree in 1983. After graduation, she continued
her medical training and practice in both TCM and Western
Medicine for two years. From 1985 to 1990 she first
served as Physician then Attending Physician in the
Department of Internal Medicine at Xiangtan TCM Hospital,
and was later pointed as Physician-in-Charge for the
hospital's In-Patient Department.
Dr.
Xiao came to the United States in 1990. From 1992 to
1999, she was a faculty member as well as clinic and
pharmacy supervisor at Minnesota Institute of Acupuncture
and Herbal Studies. From 1999 to 2002, she was appointed
as associate professor in Northwestern Health Sciences
University. Currently she is an adjunct professor at
Touro College in New York, N.Y.
