The history of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) traces back more than 2,500 years. TCM treats the entire human body as one functional being and works by restoring harmony and energy balance to the individual. Its methods for therapeutically healing include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupressure (also called Tui Na), Qi Gong, food therapy, health maintenance and preventive care. Although acupuncture was the first Chinese modality to gain wide acceptance in the West, Chinese Herbal Medicine and other methods as well are quickly establishing themselves as some of the most popular and effective alternative therapies. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have demonstrated effectiveness in treating disorders in nervous and muscles, respiration system, gastrointestinal system, gynecology, and chemical dependency. Regular acupuncture and acupressure treatments have also widely recognized as an effective way for health maintenance and preventive care. Regular visits are common in TCM practice. If needed, a personal preventive care plan can also be arranged. To learn more about TCM, please go to Advanced
