Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely fine needles into a patient’s body at specific locations, called acupoints, to stimulate and eventually balance the energy flow in the body. The existence of the acupoints, mapped out by the Chinese over a period of two thousand years, has been confirmed by modern scientific methods, for example, electromagnetic detection.

In K.J. Clinic, only sterilized, individually packaged, disposable needles are used.

What Might Feel During Acupuncture Treatment?

Depending on the points selected, a patient may feel some warmth, tingling, or electric sensation either around the needles or along the affected energy pathway. In general, the entire process is actually quite relaxing with minimum side effects.
In case of discomfort, a short rest after the treatment should result in fully recovering.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

The treatment of Chinese Herbal Medicine typically involves two steps: diagnosis and herbal prescription. Diagnosis begins with differentiate TCM pattern in a patient. According to TCM theory, this pattern reflects the person’s physical condition, emotional temperament and body constitution. After the diagnosis, the patient receives a herbal prescription for treating the disorders shown in his/her diagnosed pattern.

Acupressure

Like acupuncture, acupressure, also called Tui Na, balances energy flow by stimulating acupoints. However, the stimulation is carried out by the practitioner’s finger pressure rather than needles as in Acupuncture. This method is especially effective for balancing energy in deep tissues and muscles, healing stress-caused disorders and enhancing physical and mental vitality.
