Can Acupuncture Treatment Anxiety Disorders?

Hello Ms. KJ,

I was interested to know how and if acupuncture could help the treatment of Anxiety disorders.

I am 47 years old and suffer from anxiety (sever butterflies in the stomach). I currently am taking Prozac 20mg which seems to help. What are your thoughts?

Anxiety disorder is caused by many factors, such as physical and mental stress, poor sleep, lack of nutrition, or other disorders which, as diagnosed by Traditional Chinese Medicine, lead to off-balance in the patient's body, particular in the heart and/or stomach. As such, the common symptom of anxiety is heart palpitation or, as you described, butterflies in the stomach.

Acupuncture is very effective in stimulating the human healing system to correct imbalances in specific organs and related functions, by which a patient is self-healed without taking invasive chemical drugs that may cause other problems or side effects.
